Andrea was checking the young trees that she had planted earlier in the season. They were growing well, but quite a few needed wooden stakes and plastic sleeves to protect them from the wind and the rabbits.
As she circled the small pond, she was thinking back to a video she'd seen on Facebook; it had shown how the fire service had used a ladder to rescue holiday-makers from some mud flats.
How fun would it be to put a ladder across this pond and see if she could balance across it?
So, having gauged the length she needed, she returned to the barn for a ladder and some waders. Then the fun began! It turned-out that if the ladder is located firmly at each end, then crossing it is easy you can walk across or crawl across. But, it also turned-out that if one end of the ladder is wobbly, then you get very wet, very quickly!
